In early 2010, Mr Octon approached Sustainable Energy Engineering to reduce his electricity bills through solar generation. After a detailed consultation, we designed and installed a bespoke 3.6kW solar PV system at his home in Jarrow.
The system featured 18 × 200W Caymax (CEEG) A-grade monocrystalline panels, paired with a 3.2kW Eversolar grid-tie inverter. Despite being installed over a decade ago, this setup remains a solid example of high-yield residential solar engineering from the early days of FIT incentives.
Designed to generate around 3,001 kWh per year, the system provided Mr Octon with an estimated annual return of £1,400 thanks to both energy savings and Feed-in Tariff payments. The install showcases the long-term value and performance of well-designed solar solutions.
