15.84kW Solar Electric System with SolaX Inverter

In 2018, we designed and installed a 15.84kW solar PV system for Mallard Medical Practice, helping the surgery reduce its energy bills and carbon footprint while making use of its high daytime energy consumption. With annual usage exceeding 36,500 kWh, this installation was tailored to maximise self-consumption and provide reliable long-term savings.

The array comprises 48 × 330W Canadian Solar™ polycrystalline panels, chosen for their high yield, long-term durability and industry-leading 25-year linear performance warranty alongside a 10-year product warranty. A SolaX X3-HYBRID 15.0-D-G4 15kW inverter with dual MPPT technology and WiFi monitoring capability was fitted, giving the client real-time access to system performance via web, tablet or mobile.

Based on the building’s demand profile, the system is expected to generate around 13,163 kWh per year. Assuming the practice consumes at least 75% of this energy on site (which is likely given their usage patterns), the projected financial return is approximately £2,068 per year, alongside significant carbon savings and long-term energy cost reduction.
