We completed the installation of a 17.4kW solar PV system at the Kibblesworth Village Millennium Centre in Gateshead, a well-loved community space offering weekly services and events. Backed by £20,000 in funding from Northern Powergrid, this solar upgrade was designed to improve energy resilience during outages and cut long-term electricity costs.
The system comprises 40 all-black Jinko 435W monocrystalline panels, a powerful 15kW 3-phase Fox ESS hybrid inverter with Wi-Fi monitoring, and 12.5kWh of Mira lithium battery storage managed by a dedicated Fox ESS BMS. Designed to generate an estimated 11,536 kWh annually, it helps the centre reduce reliance on grid power and boosts its sustainability credentials.
With 70% of electricity expected to be used onsite and the remaining 30% exported, the system offers a projected financial return of approximately £2,699.47 per year.
