Andrew Gooding, owner of Northumberland Seafood, approached Sustainable Energy Engineering with the request to install the highest number of solar panels possible for his business unit at the Amble Sea Life Centre. With high daytime energy use, solar was a logical and cost-saving investment.
We secured the contract thanks to a competitive quote and promptly installed a 12kW solar PV system comprising 42 × 285W Canadian Solar polycrystalline panels. These were paired with a robust SolaX 12kW 3-phase inverter, optimised for commercial generation and reliability.
The system now produces approximately 9,241 kWh of clean electricity each year, delivering an estimated annual saving of £831.68 and reducing the site's carbon footprint by nearly 4 tonnes. This installation highlights how solar PV can support sustainability in marine and conservation-based organisations.
